From High School Hackathons to Startup Success: The Journey of Ayhem Ghanmi

As a proud institution that has always encouraged innovation and technological exploration, our high school has been a nurturing ground for many talented individuals. Today, we share the story of one such alumnus, Ayhem Ghanmi, whose journey from organizing high school hackathons to leading a revolutionary startup is a testament to the spirit of perseverance and innovation we foster.

Ayhem's passion for programming and technology was evident early on. While studying at our high school from 2017 to 2021, he began organizing tech events and mini-hackathons, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.

In 2020, Ayhem, along with his partner Mohamed Aziz Najjar, founded HackUp. This Tunisian startup is redefining how developers and businesses connect through an intelligent matching platform. Here, recruiters hire based on developers' scores, assessed through a rigorous and smart evaluation process. This innovative approach challenges candidates and reveals their true technical capabilities.

At just 18, Ayhem became the first high school student to receive the Tunisian government's Startup Act label, a legislative initiative supporting startups with various benefits. HackUp, under Ayhem's leadership, has organized over five hackathons and stands as the first startup in the Middle East and North Africa specialized in this area.

As an ambassador for Silicon Valley's AngelHack from 2017 to 2019, Ayhem has also played a significant role in the Tunisia Education Exposition. His startup's accolades include winning the first prize at the Samsung FastTrack program's Demo Day in 2021, and in 2022, it was recognized by Najla Bouden, the then-head of the Tunisian government, as one of the eight startups excelling in its sector.

Ayhem Ghanmi's story is not just one of individual success; it's a beacon of inspiration for our current students and a proud reminder to our alumni of the potential that lies within the walls of our high school. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ayhem and express our deepest gratitude to all our educators and staff members whose dedication and hard work continue to maintain the high standards of our institution.
